Telematic connection
Throttle Cops is a meditation on the implications of repealing net neutrality. The text is a cut-up arrangement of statements by FCC chairman Ajit Pai in support of the repeal. Each performer wears headphones that occasionally provide access to another performer in a remote performance space via a telematic connection. Sometimes, this connection is obscured by the computer system which in turn manipulates one performer’s ability to engage in a dialogue with the other.
The logic of the work was implemented by parsing functions within a max patch that interpreted data from a spreadsheet. This allowed for optimized rehearsal and development. Changes made within the spreadsheet automatically updated subsequent events.

Arduino + Sensors
Max/Max for Live custom devices
Featured in the Beall Center for Art + Technology in Irvine, California.
Flowbreak is a sound installation that explores the relationship between the body, light, and solid ground. Patrons of the Beall center were able to interact with the installation by walking on the pressure-sensitive floor and casting their shadows over the Lumoboxes. The boxes interpret dancing shadows of the patron's hands, translating their emotions into pulsating and motoric audio gestures. The floor evokes a sense of uncertainty as it realistically mimics the cracking of thin ice.

Custom Application built with Unity 3D
A piece for Bass Clarinet, Sho, and Electronics.
Liquid explores dualistic manifestations of water. Much of the piece portrays the calm and minimal spontaneity of water that has found its level. The middle section of the work features jovial, violent, and whimsical gestures that attempt to capture the disruptive potential of unsettled water. The piece in its entirety is an extended meditation on a singular moment experienced by the mind, with liquid as the metaphor for the certainty of thought.
Acknowledgments to Laura and Naomi for being incredible collaborators. Their willingness to portray my strange abstractions allowed for truly special performances of Liquid.
