Throttle Cops is a meditation on the implications of repealing net neutrality. The text is a cut-up arrangement of statements by FCC chairman Ajit Pai in support of the repeal. Each performer wears headphones that occasionally provide access to another performer in a remote performance space via a telematic connection. Sometimes, this connection is obscured by the computer system which in turn manipulates one performer’s ability to engage in a dialogue with the other.

The logic of the work was implemented by parsing functions within a max patch that interpreted data from a spreadsheet. This allowed for optimized rehearsal and development. Changes made within the spreadsheet automatically updated subsequent events.
