Demons and Wings is the product of proximity to the composer David Maslanka. He explained so eloquently how to find a creative mind-space through near-meditative practices. In following his advice, I revisited old dreams allowing the imagination to drive itself. The seed imagery for this piece involves an unconscious angel with giant wings, falling limply in the clouds of a storm. The lighting caught the now burnt angel and placed her gently into a bed of white roses. The listener is encouraged to begin with this imagery while listening to Demons and Wings. Then to allow the personal imagination to reveal what follows.
